Dublin Domestic Violence Awareness Event

Join us on November 16th at the Dublin Main Library at 2pm for a special screening of the critically acclaimed short film, Madhavi:

" An Indian divorcee, struggling to raise her daughter, is forced to confront her violent and painful past at a lunch gathering with old friends.” – IMDb

MADHAVI is a proof-of-concept short film that deals with the aftermath of domestic abuse. Though it tackles the presence of domestic abuse within the South Asian community MADHAVI is also about a mother and a survivor. The film is universal in its theme.

Madhavi is the winner for Best Short Film by UK Asian Film Festival 2023, winner for Best Drama Film by Oregon Short Film Festival - Winter 2023, winner for Best Social Impact/Justice Short Film by Phoenix Shorts 2023. The movie also has been an official selection at various international film festivals.

The event will feature the special screening, followed by a panel discussion with the cast, crew and Narika, a support organization for domestic abuse survivors.

Narika's 32nd Annual Gala Tarang was an astounding success!

The iconic artist and social activist Shabana Azmiji was our Guest of Honor- and what an evening it was! Full of empowered conversations, laughter, energy, and spirit of giving!  Shabanaji's compassionate and attentive presence brought us all together in joy and with purpose.  Our heartfelt gratitude to Shabanaji for bringing such light and hope to Tarang and for lifting Narika's mission! Thank you for supporting survivors of domestic violence and taking a stand to end generational violence!

We are thrilled to share we raised $450K overall (through pledges/tickets/donations/sponsorships). THANK YOU to all our donors, allies, supporters. We continue to do our work, blessed with your solidarity

Know Your Rights Legal Clinic

Narika, in collaboration with IIBA, is hosting a "Know Your Rights" Information Session on Immigration on December 7, Wednesday, 5:30-7PM PST at the Fremont Resource Center. The discussion will be led by experienced attorney Sara Fain. This event is open to everyone in the community. All are welcome.

Topics addressed will include information on immigration rights, dependent visa, visa options if you have experienced domestic violence, pathway to citizenship for adults and dependents.

Please fill the short form below to register for this discussion. All your responses will be kept confidential and reviewed only by trained Narika advocates.

Tea and refreshments will be served.

We will be following county health guidelines for the event.
